These terms cover use of palancasur.com. The contracting party for any engagement is 3-102-878347 Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada (company ID 3-102-878347), trading as Palanca Sur. Engagement-specific terms are set out in a separate written agreement, which prevails over anything on this site.
What is offered
Two things. **Cael** is a software service for businesses in the United States: when a call to your business is not answered, it answers by voice in real time, qualifies the caller, and where it can, books an appointment. Use of Cael is additionally governed by the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement presented and accepted inside the service, which prevail over this page for anything to do with it. Separately, Palanca Sur provides automation services, custom software development, technical direction and AI training, which are quoted per engagement — nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance, and that work begins only when a written agreement is signed by both parties.
Cael, described honestly
Cael is software. It is not a person, and it does not tell callers it is one; every call opens with that disclosure. Its replies are written by a language model, which means they are not identical every time; where it is unsure it hands the conversation to a human rather than guessing, and every call is turned into a transcript you can read. It answers only people who called your business first — it cannot place outbound calls, and it cannot start a conversation. You remain responsible for what your business promises a customer, including anything Cael says on your behalf, and for complying with call-recording and consent law in your jurisdiction.
What Cael costs
While Cael is in early access, it is free — no card, and nothing is charged. Once early access ends, the service costs $79 for each 30-day billing period, which includes 250 answered calls; each answered call above that costs $0.35. We will email you before early access ends and before anything is charged. Payments are processed by Polar Software, Inc., which acts as merchant of record and sells the service to you on our behalf; Polar's checkout terms govern the payment itself. You may cancel at any time from your account settings — cancelling stops the next billing period, and a period already under way is not refunded. Prices in force for an existing account are not raised without notice in writing.
Text messaging
Cael answers by voice only. It does not send text messages to your callers today. If text messaging is offered in the future it will be described here and in the service's own terms before it is enabled for any account.
The calculators
The figures produced by the calculators on this site are estimates, built from the inputs you provide and the assumptions shown alongside them. Several of those assumptions are our own modelling and are labelled as such on the page. They are not a projection, a guarantee, or professional advice, and no decision should rest on them alone.
Intellectual property
The content of this site belongs to 3-102-878347 Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada. The Cael software remains ours; you are licensed to use it while your account is active, and the records of your own conversations and bookings are yours. Ownership of work produced during a services engagement is governed by that engagement's agreement, which assigns the deliverable to the client on delivery.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise, liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim — which, during a free trial, is nothing — and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Cael is an automated service and is not a substitute for answering an emergency: a caller who describes an emergency is told to hang up and call the emergency services, and you are alerted, but the service does not itself dispatch help.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. Engagement agreements may specify a different governing law and venue by agreement between the parties.
